OUR COMMUNITY
When caring people join together, roll up their sleeves and take action to make their community better, it’s a beautiful thing—and an incredible feeling for everyone involved. That’s Lions. Being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness. It’s 1.4 million caring men and women serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.
OUR SERVICE ACTIVITES
Collect used eyeglasses for use in third-world countries
Support for Lions Beacon Lodge, a summer camp for the visually impaired
Support the Lions Leader Dog Program
Provide eye examinations and eyeglasses for children and adults in need
Award scholarships for outstanding Columbia and Hempfield High School students
Deliver 600 Christmas food boxes to deserving individuals and families
Deliver 300 hot turkey dinners to senior citizens and families in need
Coordinate two blood drives a year at Columbia Borough Fire Department
Donate to various Columbia nonprofit organizations
Provide Care packages for local Veterans through our Operation Grateful Hearts: Supporting Our Veterans initiative
